The Modernity of History; Architecture as Art
(From a lecture given in Crimea in July 2014)
The Architectural Project Considered As a Work of Art:
Architecture can be art
Art is both personal and social
It serves both the artist and the collective
Art is about ideas
Ideas are eternal
Many think architecture is about styles
Styles are temporary
Architecture needs tradition more than it needs style
Tradition is full of ideas
History is full of ideas
Architecture should not be about style it should be principally about ideas
Only when it is about ideas architecture becomes art
