Watering Holes Granite Extracted from the Quarry

This is the 150mm thick granite as it was just extracted from the rock and photographed in the quarry.

The slab that will make up the first Watering Holes drinking fountain for the Royal Parks has been extracted from the quarry in Cornwall, where it had been resting for millions of years. It will now be transported to London where it will be finished into the shape of the fountain, and will be installed in Green Park in November, hopefully to stay there for another million years during which it will quench the thirst of many adults, children and pets.
